AR Kit

Back in 2016 I worked on a concept animatic to communicate the planed features and possibilities of Apple’s ARKit. In June 2017 Apple released the ARKit API tool for developers working on virtual reality and augmented reality applications. The ARKit Tool is designed to accurately map the surrounding using SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). Moreover, to create augmented reality experiences users don’t need any external equipment. With ARKit developers could build now unparalleled augmented reality experiences for hundreds of millions of users on iOS and iPadOS, the biggest AR platforms in the world.

Because for Augmented Reality established User Exprerience like “wireframes” were not sufficient I drew the use case scenarios and animated parts of them.

AR enhanced selfies - something completely normal to us now -
was a new idea back then.

The possibility that the camera “understands” a certain text and translates it into any other language.

And all the fun you could have with your favorite fictional character! In real 3D. So you can walk around it and photograph from any angle.

Leaving secret messages at certain geolocations.

Make digital gifts more interactive.

And play Pokémon Go in multiplayer mode.
