Evonic for Automotive App

The chemical enterprise Evonik wants to present its automotive innovations in an adequate innovative way. Together with Evonik I developed an iPad app for this purpose. Visitors at trade fairs can scan one of  four markers to learn more about a certain topic.

If the user scans the marker “We manage light” a car appears and the front and rear lights hover out. By clicking on the components information about used plastics and their light guiding qualities appear.

By scanning “We save weight” the fuel and cooling lines of the car are revealed. The visitor learns about their multilayered composition and how they help to reduce weight.

If the visitor scans the marker “We create surfaces” plastic components at the car a highlighted. By clicking on one of them the visitor can explore the different material properties.

At “We boost efficiency” the visitor can learn more about fuel additives. Two cylinders filled with fuel appear. The left one is without additives, the right one is a fuel with the additive “Viscoplex”. The user can regulate the temperature with a slider on the right. At low temperature, the fuel in the left cylinder crystallizes – one the right it stays liquid. Depending on the temperature the viscosity to the fuel in the left cylinder changes. On the right – the fuel with the additive – keeps the same viscosity.

Through these interactions the visitors were engaged with Evonik’s content in a playful way, they understood it more easily and spend more time at Evonik’s booth.
